Musky Fishing the James River, VA
[/fusion_title][fusion_text]The musky is often referred to as “The Fish of 10,000 Casts”. But a guided trip will certainly improve your odds. First Cast Outfitters will be hosting musky trips to the James River near Buchanan, VA this season. We are happy to be working with Virginia native and musky guide Matt Miles for these trips. Matt is our host and lead guide for these trips, and has been fishing this river his entire life.
The James River is home to a good number of musky, averaging between 35″- 48″. Musky are solitary and highly predatory fish that use aggressive ambush strategies to feed on large bait. This means large flies (12″-15″), 11wt rods and a visual eat like you have never seen before.
