About the Boulder River

[/fusion_title][fusion_text]The Boulder River is a tributary of the Yellowstone River, running primarily though private land with stunning views. This rivers slightly out of the way location, and close proximity to the Yellowstone, keep the angling pressure fairly moderate. This makes it a great option for anglers looking for a change of pace from the Yellowstone or other nearby waters. With good sized rainbows and browns plentiful, its an excellent option at that.

The Boulder River is a small freestone. A raft is our required method of transportation downstream as we will navigate some small rapids, while fishing to the pools in between. Dry fly fishing can be excellent on this river, using a variety of patterns. Or perhaps throwing a streamer in some of the deeper holes in search of the numerous 20+” brown trout.

We typically fish the Boulder after the spring runoff in July, through early to mid August. At this time, the river is usually too low to navigate by raft, but wade fishing is always another option.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ layout=”1_3″ last=”yes” min_height=”” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all”][fusion_text][river id=’06200000′][/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container admin_label=”” hundred_percent=”no” equal_height_columns=”no” menu_anchor=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”center center” background_repeat=”no-repeat” fade=”no” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ video_mp4=”” video_webm=”” video_ogv=”” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_loop=”yes” video_mute=”yes” video_preview_image=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”30″ padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” hover_type=”none” link=”” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding=”” dimension_margin=”undefined” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_title margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”default” sep_color=””]
